The International Loadstar is a series of trucks that were produced by International Harvester from 1962 to 1978.1 The first product line of the company developed specifically as a medium-duty truck, the Loadstar was slotted between C-Line pickup trucks and the heavy-duty R-series. The motor is 345 2v gas, v strong, no leaks and doesnt burn oil. I ended up doing a lot of work to her to bring her up to good spec. Its double framed and solid as a rock. 1978 International Harvester 1700 4x4 dump/plow truck Loadstar 1700 The Beast I am the 2nd owner, the 1st owner garage kept this truck till 2yrs ago, so there is no rust.
Just a lot of surface rust. The engine is a V-8 gasoline powered V-345. There is no significant rust damage to the cab, and the body is straight. The truck is equipped with a modified front bumper to accommodate a winch, as well as a direct-drive PTO that was used to run the winch and a water pump. I originally purchased it with the intention of restoring it myself about 3 years ago, but with the years dragging by and the bank account not looking any better I figure I better let it go to a better home. I don't know exactly how long it's been out of commission, but the tag is from '86. The truck originally served as a firetruck in Gunter, Texas back in the 70's and 80's.
Frame measurements are as follows. From cab to end of frame: 93" or 7' 9"Cab to center of rear axle: 60"Outside frame width: 34"Inside frame width: 28"Frame rail width: 3"Tires are 18" rim by 19.5" wide. According to the original owner the motor was restored about 1,500 miles before I purchased it but I have no way to verify that. The oil is still very clean and I have no reason to believe this motor wouldn't run.
